Highlights from Toronto Stroke Networks’ First Community Expo
On October 4th, the Toronto Stroke Networks hosted a Community Expo for Healthcare Providers Working in Stroke Care. The goal of this successful half day event was to focus on building awareness of community resources and provide opportunity for networking and strengthening collaborations to enhance the recovery and experience of those living with stroke.
Paul Morse, a Patient Advisor with the Toronto Stroke Networks provided the opening remarks. He shared his story and the importance of support he received from family, friends, co-workers and community service provider agencies during his recovery journey.
The format of the event was very well received by participants. The six rapid podium presentations allowed organizations to showcase their services, initiatives or innovations. Fifteen exhibitors were also on hand to build healthcare providers’ understanding of the types of programs and services they offer, to support persons with stroke and caregivers along their journey.
